Information for Participating Wineries

The eighth annual Pinot, Pigs & Poets event, benefiting Completely KIDS, will be held at Happy Hollow Club in Omaha June 1-2, 2017. It is Omaha's premier wine and food event featuring outstanding pinot noir wines, savory pork dishes from some of Omaha's best chefs, the Taste of Elegance Chef Competition sponsored by the Nebraska Pork Producers Association and quick-witted slam poetry by the Nebraska Writers Collective.

Pinot, Pigs & Poets Events

Thursday, June 1, 2017 is the open tasting event at Happy Hollow Club from
6 to 10 p.m. The featured pinot noir wines will be complemented with delicious pork themed small plates prepared by the guest chefs. In addition, the wine and food will be tasted blind and judged by a panel of experts, with the winners recognized during the evening. Happy Hollow Club is located at 1701 S. 105th Street, Omaha, NE 68124. The first hour is reserved for patrons and sponsors, with general admission beginning
at 7 p.m.

Attendance has increased significantly and we are expecting about 450 people. The target demographic of the attendees is “wine and food lovers with considerable discretionary income." This is a good opportunity for you to promote your brand to a very important market segment.

Friday, June 2, 2017 is the Sponsor and Vintner Party at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Terri and Jack McDonnell. This is an opportunity for sponsors and the winery representatives to establish a more personal relationship and for us to express our gratitude.

Amount of Wine Needed for Participation

We will need one 12 bottle case of each pinot noir wine featured at the tasting at Happy Hollow Club. Ideally, a representative from your winery would attend the events but it is not mandatory. If attendance is not possible, we will arrange for your distributor or another knowledgeable person to pour your wine.

Set-up and Arrival at Happy Hollow Club on Thursday, June 1, 2017

Please arrive at Happy Hollow no later than 5:30 p.m. A Pinot, Pigs & Poets winery sign, your name badge and your wine will be at your table. In addition, you are welcome to display brochures, mailing list sign-ups, order forms and other marketing items at your table. Each attendee will receive a complimentary Riedel burgundy glass for the tasting. Hospitality volunteers will assist you with any issues or needs.

Pinot, Pigs & Poets Wine Shop

Pinot, Pigs & Poets sells wine at Happy Hollow Club by authority of a Special Designated License granted under provisions of the Nebraska Liquor Control Act. Attendees will have an opportunity to “try and buy” the wines distributed in Nebraska. Last year, the Pinot, Pigs & Poets Wine Shop sold more than 100 cases of wine, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Completely KIDS. We will work closely with your distributor to promote the sale of your wine at the event.

Pinot, Pigs & Poets Raised Over $300,000 for Completely KIDS in 2016

Because the wine and food are donated, Pinot, Pigs & Poets is a very financially efficient event. All net proceeds from Pinot, Pigs & Poets directly benefit the Completely KIDS weekend and after-school food programs for children in need at area schools and shelters. Completely KIDS serves more than 2,000 children in its after-school programs, provides 195,000 meals and sends 20 nutritious food items home in backpacks each weekend for 450 kids. In addition, Completely KIDS provides positive role models and a curriculum that offers a solid foundation for these kids to achieve academic excellence.

Additional Information

Kindly indicate your interest in participating by contacting your Nebraska distributor or contacting Jack McDonnell by email or phone, 402-871-6000. In the event we need to limit the number of participating wineries, priority will be based on previous participation.
